Just a quick update...Erik had his first defense yesterday and passed with flying colours.
A night of celebration followed, and the new Dr. was sporting a stethescope to keep things interesting.
Thats it for now, take care.
Snippets and random thoughts on our life in Paris. Although the interesting stuff seems to more about our adventures away from Paris, but whatever. We live in Paris, we like to travel, we like to eat, and voila. Enjoy.

Yay! I've finally figured out how to do this. I hope that everyone is enjoying our awesome new website, and our goal is to keep it updated with all of our adventures. For those who are wondering what we've been doing since we got married, here's a quick update:
-we're still together :)
-spent a solid week of quality family time with both families in Ottawa, and then in Thornhill
-things are quite quiet here now that Steve has left and Erik has gone back to work
-Erik does his first defence this Friday, August 26, so he has been working late. He's a bit nervous, but I'm sure he'll be great. Anyone who can explain his thesis using an analogy of oranges and the IKEA ballroom should be fine. :)
-I'm trying to sort out renewing my passport and applying for a visa for France, but it looks like both will have to wait until October, because I need the passport to go to Japan, and the passport office at best could get me a new one in 10 working days. Alas, thats too many :(
We leave for Japan on September 7, and will be back, jet lagged and probably 10 pounds heavier on September 28. Can't wait!
Hope everyone is doing well, and again, we had a great time at the wedding, and were so glad that everyone was able to help us celebrate.
Talk soon,
Torie :)
ps. No, I haven't decided yet if I'm going to change my name.
