I know it's been awhile. I'm going to blame it on the nice weather and the end of year craziness that is upon us.
Here's a quick update on our lives:
- the pregnant teacher at the nursery school was put on bed rest suddenly, and so I've taken over her class of 2.5 year olds until the end of the year. That alone should explain the silence around here. It's getting much better, but the first week, I was dreaming about the days when I would only see these kids for 20 minutes at a time then return them to their teacher. What a trying age!
- I've been working seven days a week for the last two weeks, and will continue to do so until the end of the school year. Come on June 26th!!
- Today I worked at a birthday party for one of the boys at the nursery school. It was alright, but the mother was so stressed out and worried that the kids wouldn't have any fun, that they didn't have as much fun as they could have. Who wants to colour when all your friends are there wearing knight costumes?? The cake was cool though. Erik thinks I should do something fun with the money that I made, and suggested I buy a bottle of Dom Perignon. Don't know when I'd enjoy it, but I do like the way he thinks...
- We bought our tickets for our trip to Japan this summer. Or, have almost bought them. I'm getting to know the ticket agents at JAL quite well seeing as our cards have been declined twice now. Turns out we have ridiculously low limits on our bank cards. Anyway, the guy that I've been talking to used to live in our neighbourhood and gave me a restaurant recommendation, and then the exact address when I called again today and he remembered me.
- Our friends Nancy and Daryl had their baby! (You may remember them from this post)
- Alex came to town for a quick visit last weekend. We had a nice dinner with her at Le Cerisaie, we had an apartment picnic with Anja when the weather failed to cooperate on Sunday, and then she and I spent Monday wandering around the Marais, enjoying falafel, and cherries and other treats. I didn't take any pictures.
- It's Saturday afternoon and our plans for tonight are doing taxes. Woohoo! At least we'll be on time for one country.
Hope everyone is doing well, and feel free to drop us a line, or come for a visit. I think AirCanada is having a seat sale...
