Inspire Us!

On Saturday we are hosting a dinner at one of Erik's friend's house. Apparently it will be a Canadian meal. Which leads to the obvious question--what to serve as an example of Canadian food?

At this point, we're not feeling particularly creative, so any suggestions are welcome! Feel free to post in the comments section if you want, so everyone can enjoy the responses. You can leave comments without having an account by choosing the 'anonymous' option.

Thanks!

Hi Torie When we "helped" with a Canadian cooking class in Odha the French Canadian chef had us prepare smoked salmon in puff pastry for the appetizer, pumpkin soup, pork chops with glazed carrots, mashed potatoes and maple mousse for dessert (which the Japanese women thought was too sweet). I'll see if there's anything else mentiod in any of my cookbooks. Sounds like it will be fun (and another topic to write about on the blog). Speaking of which we always enjoy your entries even "when there's not much new and exciting".Joan
